Supply Chain includes facilities and processes that operate to manufacture a finished product from raw material and deliver to the end-user. This business unit enhances competitive advantage, efficiency, innovation, quality and consistency.
Position Purpose
While working with the business unit partners, provide technical risk assessments related to new product and process development. Both lead and support technical assignments in areas of new product/process development and product/process improvement. Lead the identification, exploration, development and commercialization of new process technologies. Conducts process capabilities of the assigned processes and develops process specs and tolerance parameters. Apply scientific methods to develop intellectual property in support of strategic business objectives. Provide technical support to operations through application of rigorous trouble shooting techniques. Design and execute experiments and analyze data to make sound technical recommendations on product and process issues.
Support the origination of product concepts & technical approach to achieve tactical & strategic project/business objectives while adding to the technology base. Understands business and anticipates future needs. Identifies and assesses emerging technologies in their primary technical discipline. Assist in the development of technical research project plans. Participate as an active member of cross functional business teams including marketing, operations, quality and purchasing. Coordinates project activities, evaluates progress and supports team members in the achievement of tactical project/business objectives. Conducts research utilizing experimental methodology. Support in the communication of results to management as appropriate. Assist in training of manufacturing personnel on key processing equipment.
Qualifications:
B.S or M.S in Chemical Engineering OR B.S. and M.S. in Food Science or related degree. Minimum 5 - 10 years working in a food research or production setting including training or experience in process capability.
Strong planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple, rapidly changing priorities; focused to achieve business and customer expectations. We are seeking broad knowledge of food process technologies with excellent communication/interpersonal. Proven technical problem solving skill sets and the ability to work in a fast pace environment. Proactive and results oriented. Solid project management skill sets and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proven ability to learn new software programs and systems and proficient with computers.
Experience in Dairy manufacturing environment i.e. milk processing, separators, evaporators and dryers.
