The Sourcing Specialist will work closely with assigned Sourcing Managers and product segments as the local owner for assigned commodity(s). •Building deep relationships with Strategic Suppliers Relationships driving early supplier engagement into GE’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process, and long-term partnership for wing-to-wing product lifecycle.

Specific to Indirect Sourcing responsibilities:
•Driving business productivity metrics affected by indirect sourcing, ensuring accuracy, identifying new areas of opportunity to drive cost out, implement operating efficiency or improve productivity, including leading bullet trains within the P&L.

Responsibilities
Objectives:
The intern will assist SRO-ENEA in undertaking outreach research and developing outreach strategies for the short, medium and long term as well as in updating and improving a website of the Office and general information requirements and providing public information design services to the SRO.
Scope of work
select from scientific literature information relevant to the subject scope of SRO;
assist in preparation of outreach strategies of promotional/advocacy materials for SRO;
assist staff in outreach and information dissemination-related activities;
develop and maintain up-to-date public information strategy of the SRO;

Sector analysis:
Monitors developments in sustainable development and identifies recurrent and emerging issues of concern to the United Nations.
Designs and conducts studies of selected issues in inclusive development and draft resulting reports.
Proposes, designs and carries out analytical research on inclusive development at the subregional level.
Develops draft policy recommendations pertaining to area of work.
Formulates proposals for development strategies, policies and measures for presentation to intergovernmental bodies and others including governments, research institutes, academia, civil society organizations, and private sector.
Attends international, regional, and national meetings to hold discussions with representatives of other institutions.
Organizes expert group meetings, seminars, etc. on development issues.
Prepares speeches and other inputs for presentations by senior staff.
Intergovernmental support:
Provides substantive support on sustainable development and environmental issues to intergovernmental bodies.
Represents organizational unit at international, regional and national meetings.
Technical cooperation:
Designs and monitors technical cooperation projects.
Undertakes missions to member states, either alone or as a participant in a diverse team, as part of the Organization's technical cooperation activities.
Prepares global, regional, national or sector analyses that provide a basis for advising national governments on sustainable development issues.
Conducts training seminars and workshops for government officials and others.
Formulates technical modalities for the evaluation of individual technical cooperation projects.
General
Supports junior staff, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
Participates in intra- and inter-Departmental undertakings of broader concern to represent the views or interests of the organizational unit.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics, social science, environment or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years (or nine years for candidates with a first level university degree) of progressively responsible experience in research and analysis and/or in the application of economic principles in development programmes in the areas of economics, social sciences, environment, sustainable development or related area is required. Experience in policy formulation and implementation at the national and/or international levels is desirable.
Working experience in the Asia-Pacific and/or the sub-region is desirable. Experience working in the United Nations Common System and other international organizations is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language, such as Chinese (Mandarin) and/or Russian, is an advantage. Knowledge of another language of the subregion (Japanese, Korean or Mongolian) is an asset.

Education
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics, social science, environment or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A minimum of seven years (or nine years for candidates with a first level university degree) of progressively responsible experience in research and analysis and/or in the application of economic principles in development programmes in the areas of economics, social sciences, environment, sustainable development or related area is required.
