This British School in Egypt is looking for a UK qualified English teacher to start in August 2014.
Applicants must be UK qualified teachers and hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant teaching qualification.
Newly Qualified Teachers are welcome to apply for this position.
An English specialist is sought to expand a dedicated and talented department of 3 UK qualified teachers. Both CIE and Edexcel syllabuses are followed at IGCSE and A level.
The school are planning to introduce an IELTS course to year 12 next year to assist our students who apply for further study overseas.
An interest in teaching English as a Second Language would be an advantage but not essential.
The School
The school is situated in a modern suburb of New Cairo; it is 15 minutes from the Airport and 45 minutes from Downtown Cairo. The school has grown substantially in its 12-year history to accommodate around 1,000 pupils, both local and International. The student body is made up of around 40 different nationalities.
Schooling is based on the British National curriculum with the school offering a range of subjects at IGCSE and A Level. Lessons are conducted primarily in English, but the school is keen to promote its local culture and provides lessons in Arabic and Islamic Studies for all pupils. The school has excellent facilities including two music rooms.
The school is a registered Cambridge International and London Edexcel examinations centre. All of the senior management team and staff at the school are UK qualified.

The Location
Egypt is one of the most historic and diverse countries on earth. Famous attractions such as the Pyramids of Giza, Luxor, the Nile and diving in the Red Sea draw thousands of tourists every year. Cairo is a large and diverse city, with an epic history. The cost of living is low; generally expats find their disposable income is far greater than in the UK so that they can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.
The Package
* Tax free salary: £13,800-£20,000 (Dependent on Experience)
* Two Year contract renewable by mutual consent
* Free furnished school accommodation or
* Rent allowance LE 4000.00/month single, LE8000.00/month married teaching couple
* In some cases, the school will arrange furnished accommodation in a privately owned apartment rented by the school
* Initial Salary Bonus of £200.00 net
* Mid contract Cairo to Heathrow return flight
* A married teacher with dependants has their spouse and up to 3 children included in the benefits package receiving free education at the school, medical cover, flights and membership of 5* Al-Rehab Sports Club
* Free transport 3 days a week to malls etc
* Working day approximately 7:30 to 15.00 Sunday to Thursday.
* Approximately 180 working days per year
* 2 weeks salary per year as End of Service Bonus, paid on completion of service and a service Completion Bonus of £200.00 net
Cost of living in Egypt is very low, and people can generally live well on £500/month. Giving teachers the opportunity to save the rest of their salary.

Applicants must be UK qualified teachers with a relevant UK teaching qualification and QTS and experience teaching in UK schools.
