Job Description

A start-up company in the field of Arabic e-publishing, is recruiting a senior web developer with a competitive package.

Sr. Web Applications Developer Job Duties:

• Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets, completing programming using languages and software products, designing and conducting tests.

• Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.

• Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.

• Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.

• Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Skills

Experience and Required Skills:

· At least 4 years of professional web development experience

· At least 3 years of experience developing in PHP in either a Windows or a Linux environment

· At least 3 years of experience developing in JavaScript as part of a web application; experience with (server side) /jQuery/AngularJS is preferred

· At least 2 years of experience working with a SQL based database such as MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQL Server preferred

· At least 1 year of experience using a PHP framework such as Cake, Zend, or Symfony preferred

· At least 2 years of object oriented programming, with at least one year using object oriented PHP

· At least 1 year of experience using a source control system such as CVS, Subversion, TFS, or Git

· Experience with E-Commerce solutions

· Experience with development of social networks

· Experience with eBooks and digital publishing is a plus

Other Requirements:

Education:
The individual must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a technical field closely related to information technology.

Time Keeping:
Performs weekly time entry in accordance with established company time reporting requirements

Professional Development:
Continues professional development through attendance at meeting, professional seminars and conferences.
