Title: Assistant Brand Manager, Sponsorships - Red Stripe

Context/Scope:
· Jamaica is part of the WestLAC Diageo region, which contains more than 50 different countries / regions/ business units.
· Jamaica
is the largest beer market in WESTLAC, which is a complex
multicultural, multilingual, multi-customer, multi-channel
multi-currency environment with high volatility.
· We
have a clear prioritization matrix across our Jamaica portfolio and
this allows the appropriate focus of resource on the bigger
opportunities
· Guinness FES is the second largest beer brand in the Jamaica portfolio. Dragon is the other stout owned by the company in Jamaica. Heineken is the second lager brand and the second largest international brand in our portfolio.
· Red Stripe Jamaica Sales and Distribution is handled by
Celebration Brands Limited, a joint venture between Red Stripe Jamaica
and Capcorp Pepsi Jamaica and therefore is a key stakeholder in the
successful execution of Trade Plans.
Purpose of Role:
For
this role our organization seeks a leader who is aggressive and
commercially focused. We want a talented marketer who is entrepreneurial
and comfortable navigating new media. This marketing professional must
bring a high level of strategic thinking, people skills, creative
problem solving and skillful stakeholder management to lead this brand.
Beer is a priority area for Jamaica. Brewed with pride since 1928 Red Stripe
is the National Beer Brand and commands a high level of support both
locally and from international markets. It defines and leads the beer
category in Jamaica, with its three variants, Red Stripe, Red Stripe Light, Red Stripe Bold and Talawah, with the possibility of additional local lagers as innovation happens.
It
is crucial that this role works collaboratively both across Diageo Red
Stripe Jamaica Commercial Team, Customer Marketing, Consumer Planning
Team, Celebration Brands Limited and with the West Latin America and
Caribbean team (WestLAC) to deliver consistent and outstanding plans and
performance.
This role reports to the Red Stripe Brand Manager and is based in Jamaica.
Key Outputs:
· Volume or Brand Equity KPI’s as determined by Sponsorship Execution
· Commercialization
of key brand sponsorships to deliver scale, frequency and return on
investment through brand sales in the appropriate trade channels.
· Incorporating Digital Activations that drive buzz and brand awareness on a large scale into as many sponsorships as possible.
· Own
Red Stripe brand performance, and understand the part that Sponsorships
play in delivering the business indicators in order to deliver against
NSV and profit targets.
· Monitoring budgets to ensure no overspend
· Tracks execution of GAME plans through One Plan process in collaboration with the Red Stripe Brand Team.
· Support
the Red Stripe agenda within Jamaica and be seen as a critical and
valued partner, by the Commercial Team delivered through a balance of
consumer champion, pragmatism and a strong grasp of the commercial
foundations.
· Ad-hoc Projects and other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Beverage alcohol experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree required with 1-3 years relevant experience that should include:
- Be highly self-motivated/Proactive
- Have good analytical and problem solving skills
- Be highly organized
- Proficiency in Microsoft office
- Basic Financial Skills
- Have good oral, written, and electronic communication
- Working knowledge of IRI, Nielsen and Millward Brown data.
- Good influencing and relationship building skills
- Marketing judgment, able to balance instinct and logic
- Balances Commercial, Customer and Consumer motivations to deliver outstanding results
- Strategic thinking capabilities
- Must understand and apply interdependencies with other functions
- Proven track record in brand management; good understanding of brand strategies and the value of brand building
