Job description
The person in this role will be responsible for supporting the IST Compensation Lead for the region.

An employee in this job role has the responsibility for the operational aspects of one or more IBM employee compensation programs for a particular area. They have primary responsibility for activities such as executing Comp cycles, implementing design changes, resolving individual employee questions or issues, managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts (where applicable). This job role requires frequent teaming with other IBM functions on matters involving legal compliance, employee relations, employee communications, and financial reporting related to compensation programs.

Incumbent in this role will also carry limited responsibility in regard to design items pertaining to compensation area. They will act as Project Managers in term or building the business cases required for reviewing current programs or setting up new ones and will partner in this regard with various other Compensation Design colleagues from the regional or global team.

The following competencies will be important for the person in the role to perform as subject matter experts in their assigned areas of responsibilities.

Skills:
• Professional knowledge related to incumbent's function/business unit and its processes.
• Communication/Negotiation: Advise other professionals. Effectively utilize group dynamics. Negotiate to define approaches and goals.
• Problem Solving: Recognize job-related problems, analyze causes using existing techniques or tools, prepare and recommend solution alternatives. Challenge the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve, develop new system elements, procedures or processes using creativity and acquired knowledge.
• Contribution/Leadership:
• Works on professional projects; works with high degree of independency and coordinates cross functions teams.
• Understand the Compensation IST mission and vision
• Utilizes expertise to directly influence people outside department or function. Sometimes no precedent exists.
• Impact on Business/Scope: Accountable for individual and/ or team results. Contributes to activities that are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, or impact immediate costs or expenses
Measures of success:
• Business view and feedback of key processes and their implementation
• Delivery and execution of processes flawlessly and within specified timeframes – sole owner of these processes in their areas of responsibility
• Operational excellence
• Effective development of their own skills to meet business needs
• Demonstrates flexibility

Education/experience:
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Builds and maintains professional business relationships through adoption of suitable approaches towards people and scenarios.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise in order to meet deadlines.
• Negotiation and influencing ability with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to think creative, “out of the box”
• Responds positively to changing business circumstances and readily adapts to maintain effective performance.
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 years experience in Compensation
  • At least 4 years experience in MS Office
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • Business/Management
