The Staff Operations Manager will be charged
with the oversight and support of day-to-day operational execution of
the development team. As a key lieutenant to the Development Director,
the Staff Operations Manger ensures that the teams have the facilities,
tools and skills they need to deliver on their commitments while
tracking ongoing execution and delivery of the projects. Beyond driving
day-to-day rigor, the Staff Operations Manager coordinates activities
for the GE business rhythms.
As
the Development Staff Operations Manager you will have day-to-day
responsibility for tracking & supporting program execution
including:
Financials: program expenses (forecast/actuals), travel, supplies, contract and full-time labor
Resources: hardware, software, IT infrastructure, supplies and tools
Teams: staffing, head-count, functional skill mix, expertise, training
Rhythms: agile & lean start-up rituals and artifacts
Progress: program velocity, burn-up, defect tracking & information dashboards
Quality: defect detection, tracking and elimination; test frameworks and automation
Beyond driving day-to-day operational tempos and rigor,
you will have responsibility to coordinate activities for strategic
business rhythms including:
Growth Play Book: long term strategic plan
Session II & Op Planning: detailed planning for the coming year
Session T: technology strategy
Session Q: quality strategy
Session C: organizational and resource strategy
Additional responsibilities include:
Business Operations Alignment: working closely to ensure oversight and compliance rhythms
Cross Functional Support: working with Finance, HR, IT and other functions to achieve needed support
Customer Engagement: Engaging with internal GE customers to facilitate program definition
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the software domain
Minimum of 7 years of experience in an engineering leadership or a management role
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability and willingness to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
Ability and willingness to travel, as required
