The Sr. Project Manager plays two key roles: one is customer facing and the second is internally focused toward business development activities. In the customer facing role, the Sr. Project Manager is a key liaison between assigned customers, strategic partners and SAP during the implementation and support of SAP solution(s). In this capacity, the Sr. Project Manager is expected to provide leadership, guidance and direction for delivery activities to enable maximum customer value throughout the Customer Engagement Lifecycle. The Sr. Project Manager is expected to create strong and lasting relationships, and should achieve trusted advisor status with assigned customers, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction to develop referenceable customers. Internally, the Sr. Project Manager will be part of Bid Teams, support and guide around SAP Advanced Delivery Management for Retail and provide quality assurance for running Retail projects.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Build credibility/trust with customers
- Establish and maintain C- Level working relationships
- Develop long term value realization plans by defining and managing appropriate portfolio of projects, in collaboration with the SAP Account Team, to achieve customer business objectives
- Establish/validate corresponding tactical objectives with business process owners. Augment overall relationship management b/t customer, partner and SAP
- Provide the Voice of Experience with a broad perspective on projects and implementation activities
- Maintain and validate the customer business vision for the project, and enable alignment with other projects across the customers business
- Provide on site presence for SAP as required to ensure effective project delivery
- Manage project delivery per the SAP Project Management Methodology
- Verify adherence and performance to standard plans and procedures
- Participate in / or lead Quality Assurance reviews
- Manage overall project/program delivery to plan scope, budget and milestones
- Manage transition from sales to project to production
- Advise to resolve business/system integration issues
- Enable improvement of our project management delivery capabilities
- Support development of account strategies by working closely with sales
- Drive big bids
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Extensive SAP Retail implementation experience (10+ years)
- Project and Program Management, with experience in delivery of professional services, knowledge of SAP solutions, Tools, Architecture, IT functions, Systems Integrators Dynamics
- Extensive retail business processes and Industry experience, either as an end user or as a consultant
- Familiarity with ASAP & Agile methodology, and with SAP implementation tools
- Experienced in Business Transformation and Change Management
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- PMI PMP Preferred (or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Positions from leading Consultancies, System Integrator or out of the Retail Industry
- Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal, written) on all Customer levels
- Team player, proactive networking attributes, results and execution focused, self-starter
- Strong intercultural skills
- Fluent English
