Purpose
of Position: Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in
the form of 2D & and 3D CAD models and drawings, tolerance
stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis,
manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection.
Major
Duties: 1. Create CAD models and Drawings using company sponsored CAD
systems 2. Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and
Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures,
Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special
security requirements. 3. Understand Design Change documentation
requirements and execute the changes. 4. Utilize Six Sigma tools to
improve current business products and processes. Document successful six
sigma projects via Green Belt reports and/or presentations. 5. Use
dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper
clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities. 6.
Learn to perform basic Stack-ups. 7. Understand input from the various
engineering disciplines. 8. Concurrently work on multiple projects,
monitoring progress and quality and ensuring schedule requirements are
met. 9. Identify process and product improvement. 10. Self check of
work.
Minimal
Job Requirements: • BS degree on related field plus 1 year of
experience or Master's Degree in related field without experience or
Technical Associate's degree plus 5 years of experience • Sound
understanding of Design Principles relevant to function in question
(GD&T, CAD). • Effective written and oral communication skills in
English and Spanish. • Presentation Skills: ability to present the
results of his/her work. • Green Belt certification within 1 year of
hire date / Green Belt certified.
