Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Alternative Capital Markets ("ACM") group within IMD coordinates the launch and distribution of all alternative investments to high net worth and institutional clients covered by the Investment Management Division. The group acts as the central interface between these clients of the firm and groups within Goldman Sachs managing alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate and related co-investments. Because of Goldman's strong position as an investor into and provider of alternative investments, ACM sits at the heart of many significant efforts aimed at bringing some of the most creative and differentiating investment solutions to a growing and highly sophisticated investor base.Responsibilities
• Provide frequent investment updates and market commentary to both Private Wealth Management teams and clients directly
• Advise clients about alternative investment opportunities and existing portfolios
• Structure all aspects of alternative product offerings, including dialogues with fund managers, reviews by internal and external counsel, drafting committee memos, scheduling roadshows and creating presentation material
• Coordinate fundraises across the institutional and private wealth management sales forces
• Assist on projects related to new business development, strategic planning, product development and other marketing infrastructure issues
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a client facing role within Private Wealth Management. Given the focus of this role, we are looking for someone who has focused on the alternative capital markets space and has existing relationships and experience working with Private Wealth Advisors• Exhibit a deep understanding of hedge funds, private equity, real estate, infrastructure and commodities
• Prior experience of alternatives and sourcing, structuring and marketing Private Equity/Real Estate and Hedge Fund products.
• Entrepreneurial and autonomous individual
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Must be able to demonstrate good investment sense and commercial instinct.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Dedicated team player
• Educated to at least degree level
