American Express is a leading global payments, network and travel company and a world renowned brand. Merchant Services is a core business of American Express worldwide, with responsibility for growing and deepening the network of merchants accepting American Express Cards.

This network consists of major, multinational accounts as well as a broad network of locally based merchants, in key industries such as airlines, hotels, restaurants, retail, travel, petrol, etc.

For the Netherlands business we are currently seeking a Telesales Representative to develop and manage outbound leads, ultimately leading to an increase of acceptance of American Express cards in the Netherlands. The Acquisition team is composed of the following representatives: one Field Sales, one Telesales, one B2B, and the Head of Merchant Acquisition. Reporting to the Head of Merchant Acquisition the Telesales Representative will be responsible for:
- Working closely with Sales and the Marketing Team to identify and qualify opportunities/leads.
- Signing up new accounts.
- Scheduling appointments for Sales to follow up on qualified inbound and outbound leads.
- Understanding American Express’ service offerings and competitive landscape.
- Educating potential customers on American Express Services.

Qualifications
- Articulate, aggressive and competitive.
- Hunter type mentality, driven to exceed targets.
- Ability to handle large volumes of outbound calls, up to 30-40 calls per day.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Dutch native speakers (must also be highly proficient in business English).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Team-oriented, self-starter with a strong desire to contribute.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and preferably SalesForce.
- Adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
