What You'll Do
As a Turf Solutions Specialist for John
Deere's A&T Division in Pittsburgh, PA, in collaboration with the
sales division leadership, you will develop, execute and achieve sales
and marketing goals and objectives with a targeted group of channel
partners within multiple assigned Metropolitan markets (MSAs) by
developing the channel partner's competencies and promoting the products
and services offered by the Company applicable to commercial lawn and
turf-care customer segments. These assigned MSAs will frequently cross
existing sales-division boundaries requiring collaborative and
coordinating efforts on the part of the Turf Solution Specialist. In
addition, you will:
- Hold a key role in converting key strategic National Professional Landscape Contract accounts by actively engaging with the local Branch operation.
- Develop a trusted-advisor relationship with the key personnel of targeted accounts that (a) align with our National Accounts of our Commercial Business Division and (b) other strategic PLC accounts within the assigned MSAs.
- Work in markets composed of multi-cultural and diverse nature and must be able to relate to individuals across a broad cultural, economic, and language spectrum.
- Within the geographies assigned, assume primary responsibility as the liaison with the John Deere Landscaping Branches and their aligned John Deere dealerships.
- Be responsible for the promotion, sales, and market development for the following commercial turf products as defined by the Division Sales Manager(s) within the assigned MSA and/or with their targeted dealers: Commercial Mowing, Compact Utility Tractors, Utility Tractors, Golf Equipment, and Commercial Worksite Products. The Turf Solution Specialist will not have responsibility for Riding Lawn Equipment.
- Facilitate a collaborative approach to the market with aligned John Deere Dealers, Commercial Business Division, Governmental Sales, and Commercial Worksite Division.
- Have responsibility to manage Company assets as may be assigned in support of their marketing and sales initiatives.
What It Takes
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems
and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s
degree or equivalent experience. In addition, we require:
- Previous experience with, and/or knowledge of, commercial mowing products.
- Previous experience in supporting the Deere Dealer Channel or working with the Professional Landscape Contractor industry preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Willingness to travel upwards of 50% of the time during the majority of the year. (This position will support regional training events and may be required to be away from home for up to 4 two-week periods per year. During this time you will be involved in presenting information to other company personnel, dealers, and/or customers.)
