Overview:
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) works
in partnership with country governments, partners, and other major
stakeholders to identify the key obstacles to access and scale-up of
essential health services and to develop sustainable strategies to
overcome them. CHAI’s solution-oriented approach focuses on improving
market dynamics for medicines and diagnostics; lowering prices for
treatment; accelerating access to life-saving vaccines and technologies;
and helping governments build the capacity required for high-quality
care and treatment programs.
CHAI
Zambia's MC program supports the Government of the Republic of Zambia
with technical assistance and analytical support to accelerate the
scale-up of Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) for HIC
prevention in Zambia. Reaching the Goverment's goal of circumcising 80%
of HIV-negative adult men aged 15-49 years by 2015 could avert 339,000
new HIV infections by 2025. In order to achieve this goal, CHAI is
currently seeking a short term volunteer analyst (2-4 months) to be
based in Zambia.
Responsibilities:
- M&E Framework development: Support MC program manager to develop a robust Monitoring & Evaluation framework for management of the government’s national Male Circumcision program:
- The volunteer would be required to conduct a literature review on M&E framework design and specifically on appropriate indicators for VMMC.
- Post literature review, the volunteer would be required to conduct interviews with government stakeholders, partner NGOS and internal CHAI staff to inform the development of a draft framework.
- The volunteer would then be responsible for facilitating stakeholder workshops in order to review and finalize the draft framework.
- Lastly, the volunteer would be responsible for the production of any required documentation (word documents/power point presentations) on the same.
- Finalization of VMMC Annual Report: Support MC Officer to finalize Annual VMMC Program Report:
- The volunteer would be responsible for working with MC Program Officer to compile and synthesize data collected from all 10 provinces and interview notes from central stakeholders into a finalized annual report which clearly describes and ranks remaining barriers to scale-up by province and at national level.
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree in an analytical discipline with strong academic performance.
- 2-3 years work experience in an analytical role.
- Demonstrated project/process management experience, including the ability to work well with multiple stakeholders.
